Wings 4, Kings 1

The top line of Henrik Zetterberg, Tomas Holmstrom, and Pavel Datsyuk scored three of the four goals last night as the team beat the LA Kings, 4-1. LA's loss was their fifth straight as they now start out the season 1-5-0.

Kris Draper, who is currently in negotiations for a contract extension, scored a goal in the second. A shorthanded goal.

Detroit backup Chris Osgood made 27 saves in his 600th NHL start, and second of the season.

"To come into another team's building and your goalie makes some big saves, it gives you that calming influence," said Kris Draper, who scored in the second. "The previous games, we kind of let a team get back into it."

Former Michigan Wolverine Michael Cammalleri scored at 1:44 of the third period to get the Kings on the board.

The Wings play their second of four games on the road tonight against Anaheim.
