Former University of Michigan player Jack Johnson returns to metro Detroit, but this time as a member of the visiting LA Kings (12-20-2) as they take on the Detroit Red Wings (24-6-3) Wednesday night at 7:30pm. The Wings have won nine of their last ten games.

After missing the last nine games due to a sprained left knee, Kris Draper will play Wednesday evening. Dominik Hasek will get his second straight start in net so Chris Osgood will play Thursday when the team travels to St. Louis. Kirk Maltby will still be out with a sore back.

Tomas Holmstrom returned to the team's lineup on Monday evening and made his presence known by scoring two goals in Detroit's shootout victory over Washington.
