[Game Thread] Wings vs. Ducks
The Detroit Red Wings (15-4-4) play their first of four straight home games tonight at the Joe against the Anaheim Ducks (14-8-3), who are making a strong push to try to pull even with the San Jose Sharks for the Pacific Division lead.
Chris Osgood will get the start in net tonight and J.S. Giguere will not be in the net due to a family matter that required him being in Montreal. He has always been trouble for the Wings so I don't mind that he won't be in goal tonight, but I wish it was under better circumstances for him. Jonas Hiller will be in net for Anaheim and he has never played against Detroit before. He was actually named the second star of the week.
Darren McCarty remains out with a groin injury. Both Tomas Holmstrom (back spasms) and Chris Chelios (broken leg) skated this morning. Homer hopes to play in Thursday's game and Chelios' return is not known yet.
I will be at the game, but please stop by and comment on the game and I'll be sure to respond when I get back home. The game starts at 7:30pm and will be shown on FSN Detroit. Go Wings!

Big 4 game homestand
i know it’s early in the year but we need to step it up right about now especially after last week’s failure
Lets Go Silver n Black!!
I couldn't believe it.
I was shocked when I heard that remark about Franzen’s goal being on Detroit’s 32nd shot. Just ridiculous!
Red Wings hang on
a nice come from behind win though….Game Winner by Hossa…we out shot them by 30 and should of had a few more goals…but i’ll take a solid win over the Hot Ducks
Lets Go Silver n Black!!
Where in the heck would we be ....
Without Franzen and Hossa. Franzen is unreal the last, what, 30 – 35 games?
It's scary
to think of our team next year without at least one of the following four: Zetterberg, Franzen, Hossa, & Hudler.
I might cry ...
If Zetterberg leaves. I love that guy. In a nongay way … not that’…. you know what, that joke is old :)
I live by one phrase, Christy: “Trust Holland” … ok, so i don’t technically live by that phrase, but it sounds good here, right? ;)

I tell myself that repeatedly...
The Wings are quite blessed to have a guy like Ken Holland at the helm. My brain hurts thinking about the impending offseason. It’s just too complicated of a situation so all I can do is “Trust Holland.” It definitely sounds good when you’re talking about Wings hockey!
