[Game Thread] Wings vs. Flames

The Detroit Red Wings (18-4-4) take on the Calgary Flames (16-10-1) tonight at the Joe.

Over the past couple of practices, head coach Mike Babcock has shuffled up the lines. He isn't sure if these new lines will be used to start the game or if he will revert back to the regular lines. If he goes with the new lines, here they are:

Holmstrom-Datsyuk-Hossa
Franzen-Zetterberg-Samuelsson
Hudler-Filppula-Cleary
Kopecky-Draper-Maltby

As you will notice, Kirk Maltby plans to return to action tonight after missing one due to an ankle bone bruise. The starting goaltender has not yet been named.

I will be at the game so no comments from me during the game, but please leave your thoughts! I will be sure to respond to them as soon as I return from the game.

The game starts at 7:30pm and will be featured on FS Detroit. Go Wings!

thrilling win tonight! (aren't they all lol)

Lidstrom with the winner in OT with 1:10 remaining….rallying from a 3-1 deficit mid way through the 3rd period….great win guys! Solid 4-0 homestand as well.

Yay.

Very happy with the win BUT it would be nice if they could actually start off strong and grab the lead first.

While I’m impressed that they can continually come from behind especially against solid teams, I’d like to see us get on the board first once in awhile.
