Red Wings Weekly has special Stanley Cup episode this Saturday

Yesterday, I got a press release in my inbox from FS Detroit about their special Red Wings Weekly show this week. You can read the release below:

Sat. Dec. 6 – 11:00 AM & 6:00 PM:  A special edition of RED WINGS WEEKLY is devoted to telling the stories about the Red Wings experiences with the Stanley Cup.  Many players/coaches are mentioned, but among the segments in the show:

·         Henrik Zetterberg and Johan Franzen’s time with the Cup in Sweden

·         Brett Lebda and Brian Rafalski taking the Cup to Walter Reed Army Medical Center

·         National TV appearances with the Cup by Nicklas Lidstrom and Chris Osgood

·         Mike Babcock taking the Cup on a special boat ride in Saskatchewan

·         A recap of the various foods that were eaten out of the Stanley Cup

Here’s a complete listing of upcoming air times for RED WINGS WEEKLY – A SUMMER WITH STANLEY, including the original airings this Saturday:

Sat. Dec. 6 – 11:00 AM & 6:00 PM

Mon. Dec. 8 – 2:30 & 7:00 PM

Tue. Dec. 9 – 6:30 & 11:00 AM

Thu. Dec. 11 – 7:30 PM

Thanks to finals over the next two weeks, I probably won't be able to catch the show live but I will definitely be recording it and watching it as soon as I get the opportunity to do so.

Web broadcast?

I live in a TVless household, but enjoy watching shows that are broadcast on-line. Any chance that Red Wings Weekly, or at least this eposide will be on-line? I’d really love to see it.

Sorry.

I think you’re out of luck when it comes to the FS Detroit shows, but I will be sure to ask the media relations guy that sent me the press release and get back to you!

Can't happen- sorry.

I just got an e-mail response from their media relations guy and he said this in response to your question: “Specific to the NHL, we don’t own the on-line rights to show programs that include NHL footage. The NHL retains those rights and that precludes us from putting those shows on the web.”

It would be cool to see though..

Yahoo is a savior

I’ve seen a couple of games on Yahoo in the past. My life these days does not allow me to schedule things around live broadcasts, but it’s good to know that the option exists whenever the star align for watching some hockey on-line.
