[Game Thread] Wings vs. Sabres

Tonight, the Detroit Red Wings (28-7-5) finish off their three-game home stand with a game against the Buffalo Sabres (21-15-5). After the game, Detroit will leave for a six-game, 15-day road trip so this is your last chance to catch the Wings at home until January 29th. Plus, we rarely get to actually see the Sabres at the Joe so it's a nice chance to see former MSU goaltender Ryan Miller in net for Buffalo.

Detroit is 8-1-1 in the last 10 games and hoping to boost their winning streak to six games. Buffalo is also having a nice winning streak of their own at four games, a season best.

Ty Conklin is expected to get the start in net.

FSDetroit is having play-by-play announcer Ken Daniels call the game from between the benches tonight so you'll definitely want to watch that on TV if you can't make it to the Joe for the game tonight.

Ken Daniels will do the play-by-play between the benches.  Meanwhile, analyst Mickey Redmond will be in his usual spot in the press box, while Larry Murphy will roam Joe Louis Arena providing additional analysis and observations from various vantage points.

Daniels and FOX Sports Detroit won a Michigan Emmy for its previous “between the benches” play-by-play telecast on Dec. 12, 2006 (Red Wings vs. Ottawa).

The game starts at 7 p.m. and will be shown on FSDetroit. Go Wings!
