[Game Thread] Wings vs. Ducks

The Detroit Red Wings (29-7-6) are coming off a 5-4 OT loss to the Dallas Stars two days ago. The Anaheim Ducks (22-17-5) won their last game on Sunday night in a 4-3 win over New Jersey.

Kirk Maltby will be a healthy scratch tonight according to the Detroit News and Derek Meech will take his place in the lineup. After a fantastic game against the Stars despite the loss, goaltender Chris Osgood will get the start in net tonight.

The game starts at 10pm and will be shown on FSDetroit. Go Wings!

Homer scores to give the Wings a lead!

Nearly halfway through the first period, Pavel Datsyuk brings the puck through the neutral zone before dishing it off to Tomas Holmstrom, who scores his 14th goal of the season.

Ducks score again.

Not even two minutes later, Getzlaf makes some great moves and Perry redirects the puck past Ozzie.

Defense

Just got here. Sounds as if the Wing are deciding to play the porous defense tonight.

I don't know what happened.

Within a four minute span we went from a one-goal lead to a one-goal deficit.

Wow, listening to Ken Kal and Paul Woods is just awesome!
Good comeback win for the Wings.
Sounds and reads as if Osgood was standing on his head this game and especially toward the end.
