3rd jerseys?

Posted on the icethetics blog  http://www.icethetics.info/blog/ was an announcement that the Blackhawks will use the Winter Classic jersey as their 3rd jersey next season.  I know the Wings usually don't have a 3rd jersey but would you like to see their Winter Classic jersey used as a 3rd next season?

I love the Winter Classic jersey (own two already), love that it is a throwback to the Cougars and would love to see it used again!

Your thoughts?

Hmm

On one hand I absolutely love the WC throwback look, on the other hand I like the idea of the jersey being preserved as a classic novelty. If the league really does force teams to use 3rd jerseys like they’ve claimed in the past then I see the throwback look as an appropriate and classy option. Also if the Wings only wore it while playing against other teams with throwback jerseys (or maybe even just Original 6 teams for added flair) then I would support it 100%. I just hate it when teams take their 3rd jersey and only wear it, such as the Edmonton Oilers.

I'm not a fan of third jerseys personally.

I like that the Wings just have two jerseys.

As Zegarek88 said, I would be fine with the WC jersey if the Wings were required to use a third jersey, but I would not want the Wings to voluntarily go with a third jersey. I do like the idea of the Original 6 teams playing against one another with a throwback jersey here and there.

I agree

I agree that the Red Wings should only use their traditional 2 jerseys. I liked the look of the WC jerseys, but more as a novelty than an actual 3rd jersey. Some teams can pull off the third jersey, but the Red Wings’ traditional Winged Wheel is all they need. And God forbid they EVER make a black jersey (a la the Lions…).

On a similar note, I’d rather see the Wings go back to wearing the white jerseys at home. I noticed that they wore the whites at home once this year and it reminded me of how much I miss seeing that. Even if they’re the only team in the league to do it, I still think they should rock the whites at the Joe.
