It’s hard to understand the missed goal of May’s. Unbelievable! Jessie from detroit4lyfe is correct when he says this is what’s wrong with hockey in the NHL: inconsistent refereeing. At the beginning of the season, the refs are calling everything but the kitchen sink. Half the time the commentators aren’t even sure where the penaties occur. However, by the playoffs it seems to be “anything goes” (e.g. the Ducks “headhunting” the Wings in the series last spring). This drives me crazy; if it’s a penalty at one time in the year it should be a penalty in the playoffs as well. They should have reviews of penalties since the refs can’t seem to keep up to the game there either. My solution, and this goes for reducing concussions as well, is to make the rinks bigger. This allows more time for players to think…and maybe refs also.
