Jackets deal Chimera to Caps
Prior to tonight's game against the Wings, the Columbus Blue Jackets have sent Jason Chimera to the Washington Capitals for Chris Clark and Milan Jurcina. I found this move quite odd because how often does a team move its captain? Clark was the Capitals captain and he was sent to Columbus. Maybe there was some friction within the team or maybe it was just a good move for each team. Who knows?
One thing is that it will likely serve as a wake up call for the Blue Jackets who have struggled mightily recently.
Japers Rink's take on the trade, The Cannon's take on the trade.
It will be interesting to see how the Blue Jackets respond to the trade.

No friction in the dressing room. None. Chris Clark is heart-and-soul material, and his absence will be keenly felt. But the Caps are looking to Contend this season, and Clark’s contract was too large for his on-ice production.
Chris Clark will bring great leadership to the Jackets, and Juice will bring a sturdy presence to their blueline.
CapsNation will miss both of them dearly, but we look forward to seeing what Chimera brings, and also whatever management has planned for all this new cap room.
