[Game Thread] Wings vs. Penguins

PrintThe Detroit Red Wings (34-11-7) and Pittsburgh Penguins (26-23-5) face off at Mellon Arena today at 12:30 p.m. for the NHL Game of the Week on NBC. It is the first game back at Pittsburgh since the Wings won the Cup in Game #6 during the Stanley Cup Finals.
It will certainly be interesting to see how the crowd reacts to former Penguins Ty Conklin and Marian Hossa. I would guess that Chris Osgood gets the start with the goalie rotation, but head coach Mike Babcock may put Conklin in net after a solid game yesterday and in front of his former team. Tomas Holmstrom is out due to sports hernia surgery. Derek Meech may not play.
The game will be on NBC nationwide. Go Wings!
