[Game Thread] Wings @ Blues
After dropping a 6-5 shootout loss to the Calgary Flames on Thursday night, the Detroit Red Wings (44-15-9) look to pick up a road win at the Scottrade Center against the St. Louis Blues (31-28-8) this afternoon. The Wings have won four straight games in St. Louis and will hopefully make it win number five tonight.
Marian Hossa will play today after missing a few games due to a stiff neck. Chris Osgood is expected to get the start in goal this afternoon.
The game begins at 2 p.m. and will be shown on FSDetroit. Go Wings!

Without looking at our season schedule, i think that stat might be just slightly off. I know we’ve lost one or two in overtime against Nashville in OT/SO…and another against Chicago. But yeah, the point still stands…the Blues have done well against the Central (excepting Detroit, of course).
I once shot a man just to see him die...then I got distracted and missed it.
FSDetroit made it sound like
they had to win AND Minnesota had to win AND Nashville had to lose, or something to that effect.
oh
well i’m pretty sure we’ll get a spot ;)

Fastest three goals for Detroit since
Dec. 4, 1987 when they scored three times in 44 seconds.
Detroit’s all-time quickest three goals in 1944 vs. Tor in 28 seconds.
NHL fastest all-time is 20 seconds.
Oh, if not for those forty-some-odd seconds...
Hey Christy — Blues fan from St. Louis Game Time here.
First off…Dang-it! Dang-it! Dang-it!
And now secondly, you run a good site here. The stuff you write is well-done and presumably well-researched. But you HAVE to do something about your readership, lady! Start putting this place out there on other Wings sites and encouraging memberships, because – while I’m not in any way keen on the Red Wings – this site and your involvement deserves a stronger following.
That’s it, really. Though I have to ask — when not playing them, do you like the Blues? Because I have yet to find a hockey fan that isn’t excited about the way this team plays…from a pure hockey fan standpoint, of course.
