[Game Thread] Wings vs. Blues

Stay connected for news and updates

The Detroit Red Wings hope to bounce back tonight with a win over the St. Louis Blues at Joe Louis Arena. Both the Wings and San Jose Sharks have six games remaining in the schedule, but the Sharks have 111 points in the standings to Detroit's 107. The Wings could still beat San Jose, but their last two losses certainly hurt their efforts in this regard.

As I write this Wednesday evening at 10:30, the Blues are currently down 2-0 to the Chicago Blackhawks. Two days ago, St. Louis had the No. 8 seed in the postseason. Wednesday, they were one spot out so a win or loss versus Chicago and then the Wings tonight is critical for the Blues.

Ty Conklin will get the start in goal. Brian Rafalski is day-to-day with a sore groin so his status for tonight's game is unknown. Andreas Lilja will definitely not play as he is still troubled by headaches and may not even return until the postseason.

The game starts at 7:30 p.m. and will be shown on FSDetroit. Go Wings!
