My picks
Out of the East
Right now its hard not to go with the Bruins. Look, I know the Habs aren’t the creme of the crop as far as competition but this is just a warm-up for the Bruins. Tim Thomas has been great in net all year long and the offense has been top notch too, add in Zdeno Chara and his fellow defensemen? That’s a tall order for an upset
Out of the West
I hate to pick this one after only two games but I’m thinking Red Wings. Like with Montreal, Columbus isn’t the best team out there but Ozzie can use this series as a launching pad for the rest of the playoffs. If he gets going and playing in the same way he did last year, with an improved offense from last year, it could be a straight path to the finals for the Wings.
Finals
Guh. I hate to pick against the Red Wings. So I won’t. Detroit has too much talent across the board: offense, defense, goalie (assuming Ozzie stays like he is), add in the power play success and its hard to pick against them. They also have incredible depth and experience in comparison to most of the teams out there. Wings in 6.
