Red Wings to face Ducks in Round 2

The Anaheim Ducks finished off San Jose Sharks last night for a 4-2 series win and a trip to the second round of the playoffs. Detroit, who's been idle since last Thursday's sweep of the Blue Jackets, finally knows it opponent for the next round. The 8th seeded Ducks come to Hockeytown with intentions of upsetting another top seed while Detroit looks to keep the Cup in Hockeytown.

In the other series out West, the Blackhawks have doused the Flames with a 4-2 series win and a trip to the Northwest to take on the Vancouver Canucks.

In the East, there are two game 7s tonight which should make for some interesting hockey. The Caps have battled back from a 3-1 hole while the Devils and Canes are trading wins.

By tomorrow, the rest of the second round series matchups will be set and we will begin to bring you some previews, analysis, and predictions.

for spotting that. I was listening to something about the Rangers/Caps game when I was writing so I accidentally put the seed for the Rangers instead of the Ducks. Sorry :-P

gonna be suspended for that elbow to the head? Should give the Wings an even bigger advantage. Let their goons take their cheapshots, we can take them and then use our league best PP to put it past another overrated young goalie.

This is fantastic! I cannot wait to destroy these clowns. Even the way Hiller is playing, I’m glad we drew him instead of Luongo. I think I hate the Ducks almost as much as I hated the Avs back in the day. Pronger is a goon and Perry and Getzlaf are just all-around douches.

woot!

soooo excited for this series! it’ll be a tough one, but well worth it when it’s won. Will someone please tell San Jose that as much of a problem as Marleau might be as a captain, Thornton way over rated and they’d do well to dump him.
