Chicago should just forefit

With the embarrasing words of Joel Quenville after the immature play of the Hawks, they should just stay home in Chicago and forefit the game.

In the begining of the series I remember seeing Patty Kane on TV stating how much he hates Detroit and the all the teams they embrace.   This kid is not even old enough to drink yet.  He is cocky and arrogant without the experience to back him up.  I knew at that moment this team does not have what it takes to go all the way.

Then I witness the coach of the Blackhawks (Joel Quenville), crying about the call of the ref's and stating "it was the worst call in sports history" This tells me he is not a leader of youth.  He has showed his weakness to the public and embarrassed his players in doing such.

Meanwhile over on the other side...

The Red Wings have shown nothing but class as usual.  They are down several key players and you don't hear a peep out of them.  They don't make excuses, they just play hard.  They are also lead by two of the best minds in hockey today.  (Babcock and Holland).  The demeanor of this team stems from the top...Mike Illitch.  He treats everyone with respect and allows them to develop in their own time while never rushing anyone player into the lineup.

Now for the final...

As for the Pitsburgh Penguins...

They do seem to be playing better than last year, don't they.   But look at the teams they have faced to this point.

Philadelphia, Washington, and Carolina.

None of these teams are close to the Redwings depth or defense.

The only team in the NHL capable of beating Detroit is the Anaheim Ducks and they were taken out in round two.  Besides, their own players (Ducks), made comments after they lost in game seven, that they were the only team who could beat the Wings and there is nobody else who can match the experience, talent and depth.

So in conclusion...

Lets just say thanks to Chicago for their effortless and immature display of talent.

A twenty one year old captain?  What a joke.

Let's say thanks to Anaheim for giving us the toughest series we have ever faced and won.

Wings in 6 again to hoist the silver cup again.   Let's go Wings!!

Oh and by the way,

Let's thank Gary Bettman, Versus, NBC, Mike Emrick, Pierre Mcguire and Brian Engblom who are killing this sport as we know it.  Can't we find better people to promote the best sport of our time.

In your first line

you hit the nail on the head with the word “immature”. That was the impression I had of the Blackhawks the entire series. Their immaturity especially showed throughout game 4 taking constant penalties in the attempt to act tough. Quenneville’s comments only compounded the problem. Was he really trying to justify the immaturity of his team?

Kane’s comments also came off immature. The kid looks like a paperboy for cryin’ out loud. Who cares what he thinks about Detroit sports? His team just got spanked.

a 21 year year old captain? OMG!

I guess the Red Wings never should have given Yzerman the captaincy at age 21 either, that turned out to be such a disaster!
