Series tied at 1
After playing 3 periods of hockey on Sunday, neither the Ducks nor Wings had the lead. So how about 3 more? The Wings dominated the first two periods of OT but weredefeated in the early minutes of the third overtime when Todd Marchant ripped a shot over the glove hand of Chris Osgood. Marchant's goal left the Red Wings and the crowd stunned as the series shifts back to Anaheim.
The good news for the Wings is that they played well on the road in the regular season (only a -3 win differential than at home) and the Ducks played worse at home than on the road. Does this mean anything? Nah, probably not but it could be a psychological edge for the Wings heading into the Honda Center.
What to look for: Anaheim's Jonas Hiller has lived up to the reputation he gained in the series versus the Sharks. He stopped a total of 59 shots in Game 2 and wasthe main reason for the Ducks winning and for the game heading to overtime. If he's on again, it will be hard for the Wings to win. From the Wings, look for Johan Franzen to continue his post season production while the Wings also look for Pavel Datsyuk to get something going offensively.
Game 3 starts at 10:30 p.m. ET and is being shown on Versus. As always, GO WINGS!

Is it because of your workplace? Last year was the first time I was able to grow one and it worked out pretty good, only difference this year is that its growing faster, its pretty thick now, better then my dad can grow and I’m only in grade 12 lol.

Getting nervous!
Game starts in a little over 30 minutes. I can’t imagine how these guys stay calm during the play-offs…. Babcock should re-unite ZDH, they would be able to do a better job on the Ducks big line and then Hossa-Flip-Mule would probably be A LOT better then Datsyuk and Hossa have been together this post season.

Glad to see this place take off

I may be projecting
but the Ducks seem to have the fresher legs – I thought the same thing last game – they seem to be getting to loose pucks more often. They also just seem to have another gear that a lot of our guys can’t quite catch.
And this game they are really seeming to jam up the neutral zone with that speed. I can see how frustrating it must have felt for other teams to have played against the Wings for all those years when we did this so effectively to people.

I would just like to take this time to thank the refs for ruining what should have been a good game. For giving Brad Stuart that bullcrap penalty. For not calling Scott Niedermayers goalie interference on the goal. For giving Kronwall a penalty after a blatant interference on him and thank you to the Wings for choking and playing like doorknobs for the first two periods… Damn. :(

I am in disbelief…. That was the WORST call I have ever seen, Hiller had the puck covered for exactly zero second… I hate the NHL and if we lose this series I am likely done with it… they just lost another huge fan.

I try to make a point of not complaining about the reffing, but that’s just unbelievable. Worst call since the 1999 Finals. There had better be some pretty inexplicable penalties on Anaheim in the next game.

I feel like I’ve been robbed.
That was just awful.
Obviously, we could have still ended up losing in OT but to not tie the game up because of a completely awful call sucks. Badly.
Coming on here to bitch about b.s. call and refs...
but i see that i’m not the only one and with good reason. that was absolute crap. regardless of the whistle…it still looked like the puck beat it, on the replay. wow…that was just bad.
The NHL needs to start handing down suspensions for refs as well. Or something of the sort. I took a couple ref certification classes few years ago, don’t remember hearing anything about actual consequences for a “god awful call”.
