Chris Osgood "STAELING THE SHOW"
After watching the Red Wings beat Columbus the way they did gave me hope. Witnessing the series against Anaheim... was the most difficult series I have ever seen where the Wings came out on top. By one goal in O.T.
After they won that series, I knew we would be downtown Detroit sometime in June for a parade to celebrate another Stanley Cup!
I don't think I have ever seen Osgood so confident and comfortable before. He is smiling all the time and making this series allot of fun to watch.
I know it's exciting to see the role players who don't get much attention like Cleary, Samuelsson, Hudler, and Filppula. It's also amazing to see this new breed from Grand Rapids storm out on to the ice and produce the way they are against such a team like the Penguins. Leino, Ericsson, Helm and Abdelkader. They certainly don't look like a fourth line to me.
But, it's all OZZIE!!
We would not be where we were today if he was not in the net. He is mature, confident and does not ever complain. He has been ousted by the media and I do think that is a small reason he is playing the way he is now. He wants to shut them up in a classy way. I just can't say enough about his play this year.
We are witnessing history in the making. I think it's safe to say "DYNASTY" now.
This is something I will share with my son one day as he is 3 years old and has to put up with hockey on the T.V. every other night until it's all over.
Chris Osgood will get the Conn Smythe Trophy for sure and boy does he ever deserve it.
Go Wings!!

This is a best of 7 series. I’m glad the Wings are up 2-0, but anything can happen. It’s premature to plan a parade

I'm wondering
will you teach your son what that little abc check mark is for? I am usually not the one to complain about spelling, however, the title?
You didn’t mention how Osgood looked in the series against the Hawks…
SHOOOOOOOT IT!!!! Anon

You can edit your blog post and change the spelling of the title if in fact it was a mistake….go to manage fanposts, click on this post, and then click edit.

They should give the Conn Smythe to the posts…Osbad is not stealing the show your defense is, are you even watching the games?

Nope just someone who is tired of hearing how good Osgood is when it’s your defense that is just smothering us.

How many goals has Ozzie surrendered? 2
How many goals has Fleury surrendered? 6

I bet if you had the Canes d standing in front of him there would be a whole different story…your team defense is stifling, how in the hell are you all taking this like an insult, it just amazes me…you all worship Osgood and are taking credit away from your defense, wake up and watch the games.

Got to agree with Jason a little on this one...
Not taking anything away from Ozzie. He has played great. He has faced a lot more shots than usual. However, Jason is right on here… The Detroit D has stifled Malkin and Crosby. The only Malkin goal was really put in by a Detroit player. Not good for the Pens either way you look at it. This just makes Babcock look that much smarter. Stifle the only two goal scorers (they have like 80%+ of the goals in the finals for Pens). He also changed from a puck posession team to a dump and chase at the blue line. Makes it hard for Bylsma to practice against when he was not expecting it… I can’t wait to see what the two coaches have up there sleeve next. Gotta love the new line up for game 3. Crosby cannot escape a tough matchup with the top three lines.

I agree, that the Red Wings defense is playing well. But Osgood is also coming up with the stops when he needs to and that’s the reason the Wings are ahead in this series. The Malkin breakaway stop in game 1, the Crosby stop in game 2 (where Osgood thought it went in), and the Malkin stop in game 2 where Osgood got a piece of the puck with his shoulder. Again the Wings defense is playing well and not giving up many good shots, but Osgood is doing his share of the work as well.

Not to take credit away from Osgood(as much as it is something I enjoy), but Malkin’s move on that breakaway wasn’t exactly spectacular. That comes as no surprise if you look up his SO%(2-year total: 2-12 17% ). Guess he never learned the triple-deke.

He’s horrendous in a breakaway, he has no moves, he just picks a corner and shoots.

I have watched the games, what i’m saying is that i’ve watched the games where the defense is not so hot and Osgood has still been incredible, the only game where he played poor really was the 4th game of the Columbus series but the rest of the playoffs he has been rock solid when the defense has lapsed

hey jason
since i can not comment in Pensburgh yet i can reply here but did u seriously just compare the Bills losing 4 Superbowls to us blowing two 2-0 leads over 40 yrs ago haha we have won the last 3 times being up 2-0 in the Finals and those are the only 3 that count to me because there the ones i have watched…Wings will make it 4 in a row….still may go 7 games but we will win the series…good luck
2 more wins for back to back on the Pens and a repeat Go Wings!!!
