24yrs of REDWING fanhood

I'v been around for a wile now,and I know HOCKEY,I was at OLIMPIA as a kid,in like "76-77".I sat and watched a game in"86"and got re-hooked,I sat and watched this guy skate like a mad man,he split the D and opened the golie up like you would open a garage door,there was enough room you could park a zamboni on each side, and this young-gun takes it to the #5 hole!!!He wore a 19 on his sweater,and carried a patch with a C on his chest,through-out his career(20yrs),they said that C stood for capt of the team,they were wrong,it stood for the word"CHAMPION"as in championships,and that is what STEVIE-Y brought to his team,his sport,and his fans,I'm not real sure what the future holds for the Redwings,but if they dont get some tougher guys back on the ice,they are going to lose big name players to cheap shots,and injury,they had Kocur(26),Probie(24),Big Mc(25)that protected asset players like Steve Y,Federov,Draper,and Lidstom ect.they had respect from other teams that made a lasting impression,somuch though that as the wings made there transaction no one was the wiser,they put such a fear in to the heads of other teams,that a window of time was open to win cups,and it worked,this is the time to build a great team around a key player such as pavel,he is a star!he can be a future h-o-f if only he had the right guys protecting him.if the wings dont cash out on a few older players or some 1/2 star players in return for some tough-guy players they just wont last much longer at the top,and that would be the fault of the coaching staff,as was the match-up play off game 7 last season,instead of preventing goals,the wings should have been scoring them first and then protecting there lead,20mn 16sec of offense will never beat a team that played a full 60mns of hockey,well hockey fans and puckers I'm looking to next season and the next time i can have a reason to get on here and chirp-away!
