Lilja Placed on Long-Term IR

It was seemingly a question of "when" not "if" Andreas Lilja would be placed on the injured reserve list. I touched on this last week a bit and now the speculation is over. Lilja will begin the 2009-2010 season on the long-term injured reserve list. Ken Holland was quoted as saying:

"With the news we've got the last couple of days (that symptoms of post-concussion syndrome persist), without a doubt he will start the season on the injured list,"

There's good and bad news with this as Lilja being placed on LTIR puts the Wings under cap but also leaves them without the services of the veteran for quite some time. More on this tonight.
