Only gonna be able to catch bits and pieces...
While doing projects and studying for my test today but hopefully it’ll be a good last preseason game!

1-0 Wings!
Jason Williams cranked a one timer from just outside the face off circle at the point and it looked like it went 5 hole and just squeaked in. Wings up 1-0 with 11:30 left in the first!

3-0 Wings!
I wasn’t able to see the goals because the streaming service cutout (more than likely due to the Student Union Building’s shoddy internet connection) but I just thought I’d post that the 1st period is coming to an end with the Wings up 3-0!

Detroit is too skilled.
The Wings were literally standing around on the first shift of the game. Not scrubs either, but guys like Zetterberg and Kronwall were acting as though it was a charity game.
Zetterberg has since turned it on, and with guys like Datsyuk, Franzen, Lidstrom, and even Leino you can really tell where the line between the NHL and SEL is. All of these players have had no problems coming up with the puck out of traffic, taking it away from anyone they feel, and making really showing their skill without a whole lot of effort.
Leino had a nice touch pass on both the Williams and Filppula goal. Zetterberg has the other one.

Looks like Howard's going the entire way
Howard was very busy early. Shots were 7-2 at one point. He’s had a handful of difficult stops including an amazing glove save off a 2 on 1 early in the 1st. He’s looked on his game so far, but the 2nd period has been all Detroit.
I’m pretty sure I saw Larsson and not Osgood on the bench for this one. The halfway point just passed and it’s still all Howard, but I wonder if Detroit would give Larsson a chance to play the 3rd period. He didn’t see much pre-season action, and he’s a Swede.
And just as I’m about to post this Farjestad breaks Howard’s shutout streak. Three Wings swarmed the puck carrier and no one took the man in front.

Pavel has his step back
It seems like Pavel’s got his legs back churning pretty good in comparison to the playoffs.

4-1, end of 2nd
4-1 Detroit at the end of the 2nd period.
I’ve seen some pretty sweet Swedish mullets in the audience tonight.

not sure...
what’s up with the Farjestad goalie’s nameplate, it looks like a big strip of tape?

Krownall goal
Kronwall picks up the puck following the post-penalty face off and fires it home quickly from the slot , 5-1
then Sanny Lindstrom scores for Farjestad

Nameplate
It was tape. I was looking at the Farjestad lineup. Neither goalie they played today is on their parent club roster, but the roster online said one of the goalies was their backup, #35 Robin Rahm. The goalie that started was #40, Andro Michel, a 19-year-old on loan to Bofors HC. The backup that came in was from their junior team, 17-year-old Johan Gustafsson, who was obviously wearing the #35 jersey with the name taped out. I thought it was funny, not sure why they couldn’t get him his own jersey.
Anyway, pretty fun game, it looked like a lot of the Wings were having a good time. Hopefully they’ll play with a little more intensity on Friday though.

Bummer.
I just got back to my place after class and so I missed the entire game unfortunately.
According to NHL.com, the final score was 6-2 in favor of the Wings.
