Red Wings Recall Goaltender Joey MacDonald

The Red Wings have recalled goaltender Joey MacDonald from Grand Rapids today. Joey Mac will sit on the bench tonight behind Chris Osgood, who gets the start.

To make room, the Wings placed Kris Draper on LTIR for cap space and Brian Rafalski on short-term IR for roster space. Updates on what happened to Howard as we get them.

Hmm...

I cant really think of any reasons for this. Jimmah seems ready to play, and Ozzie is there as a backup. We don’t need a third goalie, do we?

Main page has Osgood starting and MacDonald backing up. There can be three reaons for this:

1. Jimmy’s hurt (likeliest)
2. somebody’s been traded (not likely)
3. Babcock’s fucking with us (very doubtful so last-minute)

If Howard is out for any longer then two weeks we are screwed. I dislike Osgood more then any other Wings and he is pretty bad at this point in his career, this news pissed me off! :(

Hmm

This is very troubling. I really don’t like our chances with ozzie in net, not the way he’s played lately, and I just saw McDonald last week in GR and wasn’t really very impressed.
