Around SBN: Will Rhymes 'Fine' After Being Hit By Pitch And Fainting

DetNews.com's Teddy Kulfan is reporting Howard suffered back spasms after this morning's practice. This is not a serious injury.

That sound you heard wasn't the high winds racing through Michigan, but the collective sound of all of Red Wings nation exhaling.

Thank goodness

Phew.. when I saw Osgood was in when Howard was supposed to be in, I almost had an unexpected bowel movement.. Not that I don’t like Osgood, he’s always been my favourite player since I was a kid, but these days, Howard is the man, the guy is unbelievable.

All I’m hearing in the updates is that “it’s not serious” I don’t know if that means Jimmy will be back Saturday or if they’ll give him a bit more time.

Early in the season, I’d urge caution for the Wings. Osgood isn’t the long-term answer, but I think he can do his job well enough so we can make sure Jimmy’s 100% before coming back.

I thought of that as well, and I think it means Ozzie may be getting Saturday’s start as well, but with Jimmy on the bench rather than Joey Mac.

While we’re on the topic of injuries – Anyone have a return date for Raffi yet? Can’t imagine he’s got much left before he’s back.

He's in week 2 of a 3-4 week diagnosis

Apparently, he’s rehabbing the knee, but I’ve seen nothing more specific about what that means. I don’t think he’s skating yet.

Not serious? Johnny Ericsson left the game with back spasms which were the result of his bulging disk. Sure Spasms aren’t serious, but what is causing them could me. Lets hope he isn’t out long, but Teams don’t generally come out and admit when their star is down for something more serious.
