Go Blue!
Sadly, I wont be able to watch this game, but it’s sure to be a good one…
Go for it
Go Sparty!
I love both teams, but sorry… if I had to choose… its State.

GO BLUE!
I’m heading to the Big House right now. Woo hoo! Hopefully I’ll be as happy when I’m leaving the stadium.
Michigan
We have to be better than state in atleast one sport and with our football team going for the Lions record Hockey has to be it for us
Slow down there chief
Michigan’s football team has a winning record and is in a bowl game. Don’t go dropping Lions references all over the place. As for basketball? Michigan has a better record right now and fared better against the only common opponent (Syracuse) they have with MSU. I’m not saying they will beat MSU or contend for the Big Ten title, but at least we’ve got that going for us.
Easy there with BB
MSU has had a much tougher schedule thusfar.
I just said Michigan had a better record
It has more to do with my disdain for preseason rankings (or rankings in general) than anything else.
College Rankings can be a joke sometimes (or most of the time)
Definitely agree with you there.

“Aside from Keith, the Spartans had Adam Hall (Lightning), Andrew Hutchinson (Penguins), Jim Slater (Thrashers), John-Michael Liles (Avalanche) and Ryan Miller (Sabres). Michigan had Michael Cammalleri (Canadiens), Mike Komisarek (Maple Leafs), David Moss (Flames) and Eric Nystrom (Wild). All likely will be watching to see what happens Saturday in Ann Arbor, remembering what fun they had in the first game nine years ago.”
GO BLUE!!!
Hello all, had to establish my rooting interest first.
Also, Mickey Redmond’s hat is tremendous.
Yeah I like them
They’re throwbacks from 1948 jerseys they wore when they won the NC. Though the Wolverine design on front could be better…kinda looks like a beaver.
Oh goody. Penalty on UM.
Weak. Shegos, I hate you.
Just a heads up to ppl
I believe there is a open skate at the big house tomorrow if anyone wants to skate at the ice
I Know, its a lil late for the penalty.. but!

I don't really care either way (blasphemy, I know).
I mean..it’s outdoor hockey between two huge rivalries. It’s awesome either way.
How much you want to bet the NHL is taking notes?

On how to do the whole "outdoor game" thing?
Considering who the commissioner is, he’s probably watching Gulla Gulla Island re-runs right now instead of this.
Babcock was bummed
He didnt understand why they didnt do a double header or have the Mtl and wings game there last night
Man, they would have made a killing.
Why not? Everything was set up! Oh well…
the overhead shot of the stadium
is just… epic for a hockey game.

Poor Jon Merrell
Draft pick of New Jersey? Might not be good since they mortgaged their future with Ilya…
Wow, that's close. But the net looked like it was barely off as the puck crossed the line.
I doubt they overturn the call on the ice. Tough break for Sparty.
What's the difference in rules there?
What constitutes the net being “off the moorings” in college vs. the NHL?
i think when the peg is completely out of the hole in the ice...

I'm not 100% sure on this
but I think in the NHL if the puck is going in, it doesn’t matter if the net comes off the moorings like that.
Yeah, that happened last year for UM against Miami of Ohio
in the NCAA tourney…perfectly good goal in OT was waved off by an insanely quick whistle. I was extremely elated then immediately heartbroken. And naturally, UM lost the game, because that’s how those things usually work out.
What do you call that goal celebration?
“Playing the violin”?
Helps that he shot it right into the glove.
But a great save nonetheless.
Refs have called a fair game, IMO.
Not too many penalties, and pretty fair with what they’ve called so far on both sides.
Of course! Need to get the beers in!
So you can stay warm for the game…or at least you feel warm.
Should the NHL expand to olympic-sized rinks?
Just asked on TV…I tend to agree with Aaron Ward there, I think the NHL is fine with the way it is now. No need to change it.
And for COLLEGE HOCKEY.
Canadians everywhere should be proud of us!
Good hand-eye coordination there!
Goal under review…but it looks good to me.
Over 1 million fans at Michigan Stadium this season
I like how they included commencement with the other games to pad their stats.
Glad to see the team play for the SO at the end
Hunwick played great in net today! Much deserved for him.
