Shootout Skaters
After last night's shootout versus the Blues, there's been a lot of talk about who we have skating for us in the shootout. Everyone has their own idea of who should be skating on our top three, and after that. What's your top three, plus, oh, we'll say six extras?
Here's the numbers. As far as I know, these numbers are current, including last night (2/09).
Datsyuk: 6/10, 60%.
Zetterberg: 2/10, 20%
Bertuzzi: 2/5, 40%
Williams: 2/5, 40%
Filppula: 1/2, 50%
Miller: 1/1, 100%
Eaves: 0/1, 0%
Cleary: 0/3, 0%
Ville Leino went out there a few times, but since he's obviously not an option anymore, he's not included here. Franzen hasn't so far, since he was gone before we went to a shootout. Nobody else has made shootout attempts this year. Skaters on your list don't have to include just these eight, however.
Here's my shootout list:
Datsyuk, Franzen, Williams, for the top three. After that: Bertuzzi, Filppula, Zetterberg, Miller, Eaves, and I'm going to say Helm, for the last one.
I've been wondering this for a while now, so any opinions from anyone else?

AGREE, AGREE, AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve been saying the same for a long time. Zetterberg should NOT be in the top three. My list would be Datsyuk, Williams, Filppula, Bertuzzi, Franzen, Zetterberg, Holmstrom, Kronwall, Cleary. After that, it doesn’t matter. Heck, I think I would actually think about putting Maltby in before Zetterberg. He can roof the puck like none other.
Helm?!
I’ve never understood why he’s never out there. Just imagine him skating back to the far face off dots and getting up a good head of steam and swinging wide. He’d be on top of the goalie so fast he wouldn’t know what to do.
Well at least in my world anyway….

How are the shooters supposed to practice when the goaltender can’t make a save? How is the goaltender supposed to practice when the shooters can’t hit the net?
