Ericsson Healthy Scratch
Thanks to a heads up from user WingedUp, Jonathan Ericsson is out for tonight's game against the Sharks. Ericsson is a healthy scratch. Big E has struggled a lot this year and is a -12--ouch.
Here's what Uncle Mike had to say:
"We've talked over and over and over again,'' Babcock said. "We think he's a good player. We like what he's done in the past. We like his size and his talent. But it hasn't gone (well) for him, for whatever reason. He's got to get that fixed. We've talked enough now. He's got to decide that he wants to be in the lineup each and every night. Maybe sitting tonight is what he needs.''
Brett Lebda and Derek Meech are both going to be in the line-up. We'll see how that works out tonight.
I kind of like this move. Maybe it will shake things up for Ericsson and give him some time to re-group.

Meech
I haven’t minded seeing Meech on the ice at all recently. He’s gotten much better over the past several weeks and actually looks like a real defenseman most of the time. Also, his mistakes haven’t as egregious as Ericcson’s and Lebda’s (or even a few of Stuart’s and Rafalski’s recently).
What I think our defense needs more than anything right now is a bit of a break from the offense; if they could manage to keep the puck in the offensive zone for any real amount of time and score a little more, that would help a lot with confidence.
I agree with you about Meech. He’s been less of a liability lately.
And our defense could certainly use a break from the offense, although with so many defensive zone turnovers our D is kinda doin’ to themselves. Those turnovers lead to entire shifts spent in our zone, and then little opportunity for a productive offensive rush. Stop. The. Turnovers. And things get easier on both fronts.
He's played a ton without a break
And it’s easy to forget that this is his first full season in the NHL. Struggles are normal for a young defenseman.
