Semin's looked better on replay than in real time

Boyle’s was far worse. I mean, it wasn’t just a slew foot, he swung the leg back and kicked Semin’s skate out from under him. Complete and utter BS play.

All of NBCs guys suck.

Glad to see Malts having surgery, after the scare earlier today he wouldn’t. Fantastic to see Lilja back, and can’t say that I was really all that worried about May. I thought he’d retire, though.

This late night hockey is screwing up my sleep schedule something awful.

Taking naps and waking up at odd times … to see a scoreless hockey game. Goaltending must be excellent in this game.

Luongo, Miller, Kipper, and Halak or Lundqvist. Without an excellent NHL goaltender no team gets anywhere.

I am familiar with Oduya’s background.

Funny how names reflect human migration over generations.

if this score holds

Kopecky has the winning goal. How many different kinds of oddball is that?

Who would have figured it would be Rafalski and Filppula as the last red wings standing?

it the score holds, of course…this game? Who knows?

Filppula maybe

But Raffy? No way.

Russia seemed like an oddly constructed team from the start with Datsyuk as pretty much the only forward with any defensive ability at all, so he had to play in a checking role instead of offensively because no one else could, so I’m not entirely surprised to see them out relatively early.

crap....not that I have anything against the Slovaks

But…as has been noted, the bulk of the Red Wings do get to rest a few days now

not a bad result, that

The teams still alive only have a couple of Wings, and Filppula missed time with injury, and Rafalski has discovered some missing mojo somewhere, so it’s been good for both of them.

finally watched the US-Switzerland game

Going back to plain old vanilla regular NHL games with stupid after the whistle scrums and cheapshots and the associated debates is going to be such a letdown – some of the hockey is going to look like crap next to Olympic hockey.

I don’t really see anyone who can stop Canada now – but I hope I’m wrong, because I don’t want to hear the media for the rest of the season if that happens. The purple prose will be incredibly annoying, I suspect. :(
