Semin's looked better on replay than in real time
Boyle’s was far worse. I mean, it wasn’t just a slew foot, he swung the leg back and kicked Semin’s skate out from under him. Complete and utter BS play.

All of NBCs guys suck.
Jeremy Roenick isn’t bad, but I miss the days of Gary Thorne and Bill Clement.
I hope Sweden
“Eurotrashes” Canada in the semifinal

Trying to be the American Don Cherry. As if we need one. Getting the Canadian feed on the Finland game. I like Ray Ferraro.
Millbury is American?
That’s just embarrassing…

Maltby to have surgery, May to join Griffins
will put up a post on the off day tomorrow. Lilja in after break.
I’ll send May everyone’s best (-; as I am going to check out the Griffins this weekend in Cleveland. It’ll be nice to see Abby.
they played San Antonio tonight

well, the Pistons beat the spurs
so I guess it’s ok if their hockey team beat something Detroit-related

it was more
about the fact that there’s hockey in San Antonio. But I’m definitely happy with the Pistons win.

Glad to see Malts having surgery, after the scare earlier today he wouldn’t. Fantastic to see Lilja back, and can’t say that I was really all that worried about May. I thought he’d retire, though.
On a more random note, what’s up with this weeks TOV? Do you know?
it's on the way
a few things happened that pushed the recording back a day, thus the editing/producing.

This late night hockey is screwing up my sleep schedule something awful.
Taking naps and waking up at odd times … to see a scoreless hockey game. Goaltending must be excellent in this game.

Late games and urges for muchies
I skipped dinner tonight and I really regret that decision. I have a sudden urge to have a warm scone with clotted cream and jam. How random.
that actually sounds good
But it is a pretty random thing to get a taste for.

And about the Canada-Russia game
Canada wins, fine, good for Yzerman and Babcock, but why do the ducks have to score? Like Getzlaf… Like Perry and Perry. Guh.
So what was the final score in the Russia - Canada embarassment?
That team didn’t deserve Pavel.

the only good thing
Is the heat is off Babcock and Yzerman for a day or so.
But I sure hope that Canada doesn’t win it all, they will be insufferable – and I’ve already heard enough arrogant “we outplayed everyone, just bad bounces, we’re better at hockey, Americans are fat and stupid and don’t know how to play hockey” b.s. to last me for a while.
It makes me want to punch the first Canadian I see.

I can't believe that Milbury made that comment
“Eurotrash.” Who even uses that term, anyway?
If it wasn’t NBC and wasn’t hockey I’d expect him to be fired, but given that it’s NBC and hockey I expect nothing to happen. Sometimes I hate the people around this sport.

One thing I'm not sure I like or hate about Roenick
how he keeps admitting that he can’t pronounce all those European names

bad) You played with these guys for years, did you never put in an effort to figure out their names?

two quick goals for Slovakia
One by Gaborik on the power play after Lundqvist was playing with a defenseman’s stick when he lost his, and the other one on the rush when Lidstrom’s partner didn’t cover his man and the pass got through.

goaltending
Luongo, Miller, Kipper, and Halak or Lundqvist. Without an excellent NHL goaltender no team gets anywhere.
I wonder if Halak holds on here and Slovakia has the opportunity to play for a medal if that matters to the Canadiens in their dealings with Carey Price?
"While there's life, there's hope." --Cicero

Halak may win a medal
but he hasn’t played consistantly during the olympics. And Forsberg just scores, huh, I’m psychic.

Who would have figured it would be Rafalski and Filppula as the last red wings standing?
it the score holds, of course…this game? Who knows?
Official BYB Juju Consultant...now accepting rally creature applications!
Filppula maybe
But Raffy? No way.
Russia seemed like an oddly constructed team from the start with Datsyuk as pretty much the only forward with any defensive ability at all, so he had to play in a checking role instead of offensively because no one else could, so I’m not entirely surprised to see them out relatively early.

not a bad result, that
The teams still alive only have a couple of Wings, and Filppula missed time with injury, and Rafalski has discovered some missing mojo somewhere, so it’s been good for both of them.

finally watched the US-Switzerland game
Going back to plain old vanilla regular NHL games with stupid after the whistle scrums and cheapshots and the associated debates is going to be such a letdown – some of the hockey is going to look like crap next to Olympic hockey.
I don’t really see anyone who can stop Canada now – but I hope I’m wrong, because I don’t want to hear the media for the rest of the season if that happens. The purple prose will be incredibly annoying, I suspect. :(
