People Talking about hockey
I live in a non-NHL state(Wisconsin) and the only way I can watch teams I care about is by luck(comeback versus). I just think that it funny that the people that watched the Olympics wished that the NHL was that way. With the competitiveness. My thoughts were is that the NHL is especially during second half of the season and playoffs. In the playoffs is where the hared towards other teams reach the max. The NHL is one the same level as the Olymics, but the difference is that the Olympics teams are THE best in the world.
Maybe just maybe hockey might get some popularity back in the US. Let me know what you guys think.

I agree, the NHL has become watered down because of too many teams in my opinion. You get guys that 20 years ago would have been lifetime minor leaguers that are on the second lines of some teams.

The cynic in me says that no one is going to care the day after the Olympics end (might have been different if the USA won), but I think the intensity might have attracted some new fans. The regular NHL games clearly won’t have the same intensity and speed, because most teams aren’t nearly as good and the stakes are not often that high, but I think people who didn’t know what icing was, or offsides, or a power play, at least know the terms so they have some familiarity with the game that they didn’t before.
Lots of times people don’t want to try something new (like watch hockey) because they don’t know anything about it and don’t want to look stupid to other people.

if they didn't know what icing was before
they’re gonna be confused when they see NHLers racing to touch the puck :)
