So who you got? POLL TIME!
Plain and simple, who do you have winning the series and in how many games?
I've got Detroit in 6. Call me crazy but I think there was a turning point in Phoenix for the offense and defense. That's not to say San Jose is a cakewalk but the first round match-up (that they struggled with) was far below the talent level that Detroit rolls out each night. Top to bottom the Wings have a ton of depth on offense and defense and are capable of playing the really tight games. San Jose will have a much tougher battle on their hands than the Colorado team they faced in the first round.

Why is San Jose even a option?
Of cource we are going to win!

Wings, but
the Colonel Mustard option was too tempting.
Anyway, I think this series will be completely different in the way that you could smell most of the even strength goals coming in the Phoenix series. There will be less concentrated pressure and goals will come during seemingly dull parts of the game.
Wings in 6
split these first 2 games and go from there

San Jose in 7
Take it to the limit again, with a less happy outcome.
But then again, I was pessimistic about game 7 against the Coyotes.
Part of my prediction here is borne from the fact that for the first time in three years, I came into the playoffs not feeling like the Red Wings are going to win the Stanley Cup. That’s still true. And frankly, if they had to bow out, better now than on the doorstep of a trip to the ultimate stage. And better to the Sharks than at the hands of the Blackhawks (or Canucks, I guess).
So, San Jose to win, but the Wings to make them sweat. Hope I’m wrong. And if I am, I’ll pick the Wings to lose again in the next round.
