Detroit looks to lock up its 10th straight 100 point season with a win tonight in Columbus. The Wings faced Columbus on Wednesday and took home the win by a score of 4-3. Columbus played a solid game and got some great individual efforts on a few goals while the Wings looked sloppy and uninterested. With only two games left (including this one) before the playoffs begin, the Red Wings will need to tighten up their game defensively and Columbus would be a good starting point.
Detroit's playoff seeding is up in the air at this point but a win would change things up as seeds 5-7 are all tied with 98 points. Nashville has only one game to go (Saturday night) while LA plays Edmonton and Colorado in its last two games.

Things I've learned from my latest visit to the Joe
1. Being the only sober person (besides the driver) in a bull full of thirty-some drunks is not the best fun you can have.
2. I always enter the Joe after Detroit has scored the first goal. Therefore I miss it.
3. I am much less calm when watching the game in person, esp. when there are so many turnovers.
4. Crowd goes wild when three goals are scored in 1:16.
5. Fuck I love being at the Joe.

Now that I’ve said it, Franzen has a lot of teeth. I never thought about Homer’s teeth. But then again, I usually draw people with their mouth closed.

People are so damn hard for me to draw. Birds, fine; horses, fine; reptiles and amphibians, fine; fish, fine; but people? I suck at people.
But that means that I am impressed by people who can actually draw a person that looks like a human being. :)

I think Michigan’s trying to pass a law next year prohibiting smoking inside restaurants and bars, mainly for employee health. But it depends on the state.

When I was there
I had a hard time getting used to people smoking in bars. Here that’s a nono and I love it.
My throat still hurts from Wednesday when I spent the whole night in midst of smokers on my way to the Wings game. I’m never doing that again. I don’t have asthma but I’m still way to sensitive to smoke.

I was thrilled when the Wings signed him in the first place, because I remembered his first year with Ottawa and wanted to see him recover from injuries and bouncing around and be an effective player again.
So very glad to see him settle in and feel comfortable with a team now.

He was an interesting character that made the rivalry all the more fun. And he was a great goaltender.
I'll never forget that
Game 6, 0-0, we were down 3-2. If I’m not mistaken we won that game 4-0 then went on to the 7-0 whitewash in Game 7. Shanahan got the Statue of Liberty goal and I think that was a run where Brendan was a ghost. Might be wrong on any or all of that, just fun to reminisce.
