Game Thread: Sharks Vs. Red Wings Game 4

San Jose Sharks at Detroit Red Wings, May 6, 2010 6:30 PM CDT

A virtually insurmountable task faces the Detroit Red Wings. Step one is tonight.

It's Game Four of a Western Conference Semifinal between the Red Wings and the San Jose Sharks, and all San Jose has to do is win one of four to advance.

Meanwhile, Detroit suddenly looks like the Red Wings from mid-January: unable to close out a game, shaky on defense, and hoping beyond hope that their goaltender can keep them in the game.

Faceoff is 7:30 PM ET. The game is on FS Detroit, Comcast Sports Net (California), and TSN. Versus will join the game at the conclusion of the Pittsburgh/Montreal game. Comment away below.

I'm gonna be honest

I haven’t slept in…..39 hours, and i take absolutely no responsibility for whatever my sleep-deprived self does if the wings lose. I hope that made sense?

So say you're not in Detroit....

How do I see the game given VS and the NHL’s decision to compete against itself?

...yeah.

I do like the fact that he’s taking that role too. I just have followed him from Grand Rapids up. I always worry he’s gonna get hurt. Don’t ask..stupid reasons more than anything.

Tonight, San Jose stood like the house by the side of the road and watched this game go by.

This is starting to get out of hand.

I seriously hope they’re this dilligent about penalties in game five, because the Wings will make these retards spend the entire game in the box.

Keeping the penalty box warm with plenty of people

how much I love to hear the JLA crowd sing Don’t Stop Believing.

Sharks crybaby act

Will hopefully propel the Wings when they go back to San Jose

I’m glad all the rest of this series is elimination games.

I’m wrong. We’ve had one.

Wow

I wish I could watch the game (live), keeping track on ESPN gamecast (at work). Looks like a lot of penalty mins/fights. I can’t wait to watch on DVR…

Have to watch from Chicago...

…and didn’t get a VS feed until beginning of the third. Did I miss anything?

Quite night at the Joe. ::rolling eyes::

by joehass on May 6, 2010 9:13 PM CDT up reply actions

I attribute this to me not watching.

So far I got to see the 5 on 3 jobbing in the 3rd in game 2, the 3rd period/OT meltdown in game 3, and missed the Mule’s monster 1st period.

Legs collided with a Shark player.

LETS GO WINGS!

What a ridiculous win

based on what I’ve only seen from the box score, missed the game. I hope you guys win 3 straight. I want the Hawks(if they get past Vancouver) to have to beat the Wings to get to the Finals. Also, I like to see the Sharks continue their choking streak. Heh.

Does anyone elevate their game more in the postseason than Franzen?

by Scott Sox on May 6, 2010 9:26 PM CDT reply actions

LETS GO REDWINGS!!!

So its still a big hill to climb, but dang if a night like tonight cant keep the redwing spirit flying.
The Sharks lost there composure and acted like a bunch of fing goons ,heres to hoping they choke!

by redwing1 on May 6, 2010 9:40 PM CDT reply actions

1975 lives on

This was a dominant level-set job in MoTown, if the Sharks aren’t ready Saturdary, a trip back to the Joe could drive the Fin Nation to start second guessing everything. We’re the kind of team that could come back and ice it in 7, we just need to be firing on all cyliders – show me that heart for game 5, and I’ll show you the ’75 Isles….
