Around SBN: How The Kings Beat The Coyotes: Lather, Rinse, Repeat

X ways to win the Black and Blues division.

I - Congratulations to Jakub Kindl on his first NHL goal and first NHL point.  Just remember when you're telling your grandkids about it, it WAS a laser from the point.

II - Well, we finally played a first period.  Of course, I'm sure some Debbie Downers will harp on the fact that we didn't really play the second two.  Just can't please some people.

III - Thanks God Kronner is OK.  I had a minor heart attack during the game's opening shift.

IV - I can't really blame Jimmy on any of the 3 goals.  He was either hung out to dry (first 2) or it was a third rebound.

V - If you watch the replay of Bert's goal closely, you can see him order, and eat, a Jimmy John's sub before burying the puck.

VI - Why can't this Hudler show up every night?  He played a damn good game.

VII - I was about halfway through a "Dammit SHOOT Hudler" when Helm buried the winner.  I'm pretty sure we all were.

VIII - TJ Oshie is good.

IX - We need to hit the net.  We are sending too many shots wide that are just wrapping around the boards and headed right back out of the zone.  That's a momentum killer.

X - Saturday's On Tap: S.C.U.M* vs Little Sister.

This is next on the to-do list after “End World Hunger” and “Cure Cancer”.

I do blame Jimmy for #3

His rebound control has been getting worse as the season progresses and was downright atrocious last night. This is the sort of thing that ends playoff hopes. It doesn’t take Scotty Bowman to figure out where those rebounds are going and how to get sticks on them in a 7-game series.

But the third goal wasn’t an example of that lack of control. He stopped the first shot, rebound was pretty much right in front of him. Even the second rebound stayed there. And yet, none of the 3 Wings standing in the area felt like clearing it out. The Blues got the third one to slide by him.

I’ve pointed out plenty of times where his lack of rebound control, and poor rebound placement, have cost us. I don’t think this was one of those.

haha love the Bert reference..

That goal was sick… both in Fil’s pass and Bert’s patience.. beauty.

I cant blame Jimmah for the goals, coming back from the knee injury he was probably a little rusty, but he had a good game and made some very key saves
