Brunnstrom Clears Waivers
Per Bob McKenzie on Twitter, Red Wings forward and reclamation project Fabian Brunnstrom has cleared waivers. This is a prelude to sending him to Grand Rapids to get more playing time and the ability to get used to the Red Wings' system.
As a note on Waiver rules, Brunnstrom can remain with the Red Wings for up to ten games after clearing before they would have to put him through waivers again. Also, because of his pay grade in the AHL (no more than $105,000), he will be eligible for recall without having to clear re-entry waivers.
[Updated already: Ansar Kahn has him as already having been assigned to Grand Rapids.]

Sorry, I didn't make that clear
He could actually stay with the Red Wings for up to ten games before having to clear waivers to join the Griffins. Once he’s been assigned to Grand Rapids, he won’t have to clear re-entry waivers to come back up.
Once (if) he comes back up, he can go back down without having to re-clear waivers as long as he doesn’t exceed that limit. He could be called up in February, play 5 games for Detroit, and then be sent back down without having to go back through waivers.

oh this is awesome..
i thought it was kind of weird that he would have to go through waivers that much. i suck with waiver rules. I wonder if were going to see nyquist make an appearance at some point.

don't worry
i don’t even touch waivers. they’re just too damn complicated and player-specific for the time i DON’T devote to learning the ins and outs of how they work. you’re far from the only one who sucks with waiver rules.
You wanna tell me that to mah face?!

YAY!
1000X’s YAY am I happy that he went through without issue. I really want him to work out here. Guy’s got a big body and moves the puck well. Hopefully, he can be put to good use in the Rapids and come up when needed.
