Brendan Smith Called Up, Will Start Serving NHL Suspension
Brendan Smith announced on Twitter that he's being called up to start serving his NHL Suspension:
"Just got called up to serve my first game of my suspension and get to watch @cemmer48 [Cory Emmerton] add to his unreal goal per game stats"
While I don't have any confirmation, it's very likely Mike Commodore will be placed on IR (short-term) to make the roster move.
Brendan Smith is ineligible to play in the AHL until October 18th. Detroit will play three more games between now and then.

yes!
He finally made it to the big leagues! Do you think they’ll start selling his jersey now?
Brendan Smith fan
This only makes sense
I didn’t understand why they didn’t just put him on the team to begin with to get the games out of the way. It would be mighty unfortunate if we actually needed him later in the year and he wasn’t able to play. Good move by the team.
