Brendan Smith announced on Twitter that he's being called up to start serving his NHL Suspension: "Just got called up to serve my first game of my suspension and get to watch @cemmer48 [Cory Emmerton] add to his unreal goal per game stats" While I don't have any confirmation, it's very likely Mike Commodore will be placed on IR (short-term) to make the roster move. Brendan Smith is ineligible to play in the AHL until October 18th. Detroit will play three more games between now and then.
