Howard’s still rocking a GAA under 2. Anyone else feel better about our team defense this year?

There is one thing I think I've noticed about the D play this year, at least recently
I have started noticing that whenever the puck is behind Jimmy’s net, there is at last one d-man, if not both (or a forward) near either post to prevent wrap-arounds or shots taken trying to bounce them in off Jimmy’s back. I don’t remember them doing that much of it last season.
Not new
I remember seeing it a lot last year. When the puck is down low, far side D-man holds the opposite post.
yeah, the wings have been doing this for at least a year or 2. I see the value with this, but it really handcuffs one of our guys and limits how aggressive the Wings can be sgainst the guy down low. San Jose, in particular, knows that we do this and loves to exploit it. That low man then becomes the playmaker, knowing that our D-men are watching those posts, he can take his time and wait for someone to crash the front of the net and hit them with a quick pass.
