So to tag off of my other post about Ales Hemsky, it got me thinking about how other teams view the Red Wings. Everyone knows and talks about how Holland has found extreme value late in the draft and how deep we are in the 'minors.' But as we were talking about Ales Hemsky, JJ would offer Emmerton and a 5th round pick. But Idle Drifter said that the any team trading a RH shot to the Wings would require some serious concessions from the Wings.
That gets me thinking (I know, a dangerous thing). Do other teams view trades with the Red Wings in a different light than trades with, say, the Panthers? For example, if the Edmonton was trading Ales Hemsky to the Red Wings would they ask for more value than they would from Florida because they know the Red Wings have more depth in the minors than the Panthers or because they know the Wings draft and develop better and faster?
