Zetterberg Update
Not a whole lot to report at the moment, but updates from Twitter are indicating that Zetterberg had an MRI, and he is listed as day-to-day. All indications are that he will be ready to go for the playoffs, but don't expect to see him at all this weekend. We'll pass along more info as we know it.

Hell, rest everybody for the next two games
Even if they are against Chicago. No Jimmy, Pavel, Z….
Go for it
I think I may have to make an extra trip to Church
before Sunday to light a candle and pray for intercession by St. Jude, the patron saint of impossible causes. Or maybe several candles and lots of prayer.
Zetterberg spoke a bit....
Leg feels not so good, but MRI looked good. He has some pain, probably from a muscle pull so he is wearing a knee brace on the leg. Not gonna play the last two games for sure, but will be listed DTD as soon as playoffs start. He continued his weight lifting and off ice practice today as per KuklasKorner’s article. Looks like everything is probably gonna be okay, just a tweak and a precautionary measure since it’s so close to playoff time.

Yep
That about sums it up. All that was missing was the “if this were the playoffs, Z would be playing” line that we got when Datsyuk was injured.
yeah
insert vague “lower body injury” comment from Babs here——>

Well, here's hoping a week(ish)'s worth of time is enough to heal him enough for the grind.
Upsetting, but better than it happening in game 1 of round 1. Hopefully the Wings are getting all their injuries (and waved off goals) out of the way now so that everything can swing their way in the postseason.
sure hope so
though i’m not sure i like the look of really not being 100% healthy since october for the team. Hopefully we can get our stuff together and light the lamp. We got the talent in the team and the experience to go far.

I just wish Howard stones the Hawks
About time our goalies do to opponents what their goalies do to us…
Reason Z is the future Captain...
There isn’t anyway that Z won’t be out there at some point…as long as he can skate and not fall down. He didn’t work as hard as he did all season to sit out the playoffs. His leadership (not to lessen Lids) was one of the main reasons the Wings hung in there as well as they did when Dats, Cleary, Stuart, Mo, Draper….Ozzie went down.
I really like
how the young guys followed his example during that period. It was such a crucial stretch for us. I’m glad we have him for what 11 more years.
CapGeek says 10
signed a 12-year contract, and once this season is done, 2 years will have been finished.
Z has been the most important player on the team this year
He’s been a constant offensive and defensive presence, and his hard work and grit have made him a good leader as well. He’s been the heart of this team over the past 79 games, and it was a shame to see him go down, especially considering his luck with injuries in his career. Hope he heals up and gets ready to mow down some teams in the playoffs.
Living in Chicago is great... apart from the Blackhawks fans.
Well, that's impossible.
Chicago can score goals without even putting the puck in the net now, apparently. Can’t contend with that.

I feel that way a lot of times too, but when I sit back and think about it, I’d rather just sweep them in a playoff series. That would show our dominance over them and advance us to the next round. I’m really getting pumped for these playoffs.

I guess that's some okay news..
At this time of the year, any type of injury hurts that much worse.. physically and mentally for the player and mentally for the fans/coaching staff. Let’s hope he can get back to 100% asap.. and nothing lingers come show time.
(Slightly off-topic of the post..but not WIM)
On the other hand… WHY Nothiing on the MICHIGAN vs. N. Dakota semi-final game?!?! …Was expecting a possible game thread, as it’s an off night for the Wings or a dang post at the very least, haha!! Pretty sure I’ve seen threads on here for things non-Wing game related.. including Michigan Hockey, if I’m not mistaken.
Even friggin’ ESPN knows about it. Hell, they’re even airing the game… who would thought, hockey on espn?? Not to mention it’s Gary Thorne on the mic.. now we just need Bill Clement and it would be just like old times, haha. They did a helluva job for the ‘97 Cup Win, that’s for sure!!

And then their were 2.... OH YEAH!!
MICHIGAN with the empty netter sealing the deal with 35sec left!!! They go onto the Frozen Four Chamionship Game on Saturday…vs. Univ. of Minnesota Duluth. It’s been fun talking to myself, hopefully someone views this that cares, lol. Btw.. The Wings need to take a look at this Michigan goalie “Shawn Hunwick”, if it’s ever a possibility and/or option.. did an amazing job tonight, a well deserved shut-out!!!
