The Red Wings announced that the prospect camp has been moved to Traverse City this year and will take place July 7-14. It is also open to the public.

Guess what? The Cherry Festival is being held July 2-9 this year. What a great family vacation! Enjoy parades, concerts, carnival, activities, beaches...and, oh, so much more while getting your mid-summer hockey fix.

Centre Ice is only a couple of miles from downtown, so you can drop the family off at the festivities and go watch (possible) future Wings being put through their paces.

No interest in The Festival...just thinking that if I didn't live here how great it would be to take in the combination of all the Cherry Festival has to offer....and get to see Wings hockey at same time.

PS:  Am writing this for the second time due to that damn "pop up blocker" thing...it deleted my first attempt. How I hate half of the crap you have to work around these days in the so-called name of security. It seems more and more like the computer is trying run me than I am running the computer. When will I learn to "copy" everything I type before previewing/posting! Vent over.
