Probably a stupid question

Was reading the Yahoo blog about the new NHL-KHL MOU and ran across a familiar name.  In the last paragraph, there's a mention of a Mikhail Grigorenko...which got me thinking about our old friend Igor.  Now...before I ask this question, please know I could care less if he ever came back to the NHL after his selfish 'I don't like playing in the A' routine.  He's dead to me.  But...

What exactly is the contract ruling on him?  If he ever decided that he was going to sack up and give the North American game a genuine shot, would we retain his negotiating rights?  Or is he a free agent?

I ask only because I looked at his KHL stats out of curiosity and they're actually pretty decent over the last two years.  Again...do I want him here?  Don't care whatsoever.  Just an inquiring mind...
