Video of the Night: Lidstrom Rescues Red Wings
Cloutier Vs Detroit - NHL History Will Be Made Parody (via ebey11)
Today's video takes us back to the star-studded squad of the 2001-2002 season, including future Hall-of-Famers Brett Hull, Luc Robitaille, Dominik Hasek, and other Red Wings mainstays Nicklas Lidstrom, Steve Yzerman, and Sergei Fedorov. They rode a President's Trophy into the playoffs, albeit mired in a slump while the Red Wings' first round opponent the Vancouver Canucks rode a hot streak into the playoffs. The trend continued for the first two games with the Canucks heading back to Vancouver with two wins in hand on Joe Louis Arena ice. Game 3 was in doubt until Nicklas Lidstrom skated the puck up from the Red Wings' zone and unleashed a shot on Dan "Hey, where's the puck? Oh. . . " Cloutier that gave the Red Wings a 2-1 lead from which they never looked back, taking Game 3 and the next three to knock out the Canucks en route to the franchise's tenth Stanley Cup and third in 6 years.

That goal did turn the series around
And if I remember correctly, TPH also had a similar one against Nashville, possibly in 2008. I’m not sure of the year, but I do remember the goal and that it was against Nashville.
yep, it was in 2008
it was why, in the playoffs, i kept advocating for Lidstrom to shoot from center ice because the Red Wings won a Stanley Cup every time Lidstrom scored from center in the playoffs. I think the one against Nashville was on Dan Ellis.

Short hop?
Didn’t that one skip up like two feet in front of him?
I am by no way defending him…just trying to confirm my failing memory.
Don't Panic!
