Video of the Day - Smithsonian
We know Brendan Smith can pass the puck. We know Brendan Smith can put up points from the blueline. We know the kid can play defense. But did you know he's willing to drop the gloves? Smith had 4 fights last season with the Griffins to go along with his 12 goals and 20 assists. Arguably his best fight from last season came against Blackhawks' prospect Kyle Beach of the Rockford IceHogs. Smith and Beach dance for a bit before throwing some punches. Make sure to take notice of the sick uppercut that Smith lays on Beach at the 44 second mark of the video. The kid has all the tools to be the next elite defenseman for the Red Wings.

I always like linesmen who know there place when this happens.
Stand back and stay out of the way.
Let them get it out of their system and step in when they tire out.

I miss the times when the refs would let players just fight
