My Dream Come True

I'm normally not one to brag, but you'll have to excuse me if I am just a bit excited about this bit of news I want to pass along.

First off, I want to thank the guys here who run the blog.  I've become a fairly regular poster and consistent lurker, and this site is awesome.  I've thoroughly enjoyed the banter and loved the different viewpoints and perspectives.  Giving my opinion on hockey is something I've never shied away from, and this site was a perfect outlet for me to do so.

Probably the one thing I've enjoyed more than anything, though, were the game threads.  I'm a bit of an outcast in my social circle in that I'm a hockey fanatic.  Most of my friends are only casual fans and don't really enjoy watching every game and critiquing it like I do.  So to come here and be surrounded by guys (and gals!) who know the game and can speak it as well or better than I can was comforting.  It was like being in a room with all you guys and talking hockey while watching the game.  With about a hundred of you.  It was awesome.

So why am I saying everything past-tense?  Well, from now on, I will likely be able to join only the away game threads, and I will probably not post as much as I have in the past.  Starting tomorrow, ladies and gents, I will be officially employed by the one, the only, the Detroit Red Wings.  I am going to be working in the youth hockey department coordinating all youth hockey events down at the Joe.  This, of course, means that I get the venerable job of conducting the youth shootout between the first and second periods.  What a burden, I know.

So while I may not be around here as much, know that I am around in spirit.  I will continue to come on as much as I can, and might even provide some inside info if I'm privy to it.  I am ecstatic about starting with the team/organization I grew up rooting for.  I can't think of a better way to spend a work day than at JLA.

Again, I'm sorry if I seem like I'm bragging, but I really want to share my excitement with people who can appreciate it for what it is.  Hopefully this is just a stepping stone for me and I can go on to bigger and better things within the organization.

So thanks again for being awesome puck buddies, and I'll see ya in the away game threads and the Filppula fantasy league.  And, as always, Go Red Wings!

Adam
