After a hot start, the Stars find themselves treading water in a surprisingly weak Pacific Division this season. Injuries and lack of depth have cost them games. Last night, they skated with St. Louis to a 1-0 loss in a battle of the "don't call us boring!" teams on national television.
Tonight, they'll try to avenge that loss and a loss to Detroit on January 3rd. Look for trap hockey and the Stars to try to frustrate the Wings into mistakes.

It's not surprising when players get overvalued or overhyped on the internet anymore.
I almost feel like most players are overvalued nowadays. Everything thinks their third line center is the best in the NHL and that their prospect pool is the deepest. When it comes to Toronto, Lupul and Kessel together have had a good start. But it seems waaaay too early to start a Maple Leafs circlejerk over their forwards actually producing for a change.

It's not so much the skating (although it is kind of the skating)
It’s hard when the puck won’t sit still.
They need to adjust to throw more area passes and just hustle to pucks. Then they need to get numbers on the puck. They’re being outmanned on the boards and counting on the one guy to beat two for the puck.

It's hard
Because the other team just clogs up the neutral zone, so navigating through that just to get in to the offensive zone takes time and energy, and by the time you get in the other team’s zone they’ve got people back to retrieve the puck.

ill try to relieve the boredom by telling a story about the time i went to a tigers game
this was back in 08 and the tigers were playing the orioles in camden yards so i got tickets way up in the cheap seats with drunken orioles fans this one drunk fan saw that i was wearing a tigers shirt and said to me HEY KID GARY SHEFFEILD SUCKS I HATE HIM and throughout the game when sheff was at bat the guy would say HEY SHEFFIELD YOU SUCK GARY SHEFFIELD SUCKS he left during the 6th because he was so drunk but not without stumbling down the stairs and saying to me HEY KID I TOLD YOU GARY SHEFFIELD SUCKS so the moral of this story is that baltimore sucks
