PrintI don't know about you folks, but I'm not wasting a day off treating it like Sunday: Part 2. I'll be watching the Winter Classic today between the Flyers and the Rangers and trying to decide within the first period which side I'm going to root for. I had a list of pros and cons written up for each team, but I always know it's going to come down to whichever side pisses me off first.
With the game being in Philly, there's a very good chance I'll be pulling for the Rangers by the end of it. Unfortunately, the Rangers have fewer likeable players than Philly.
It's a Winter Classic Open Thread. Let me know which side you're pulling for and why.

Question
Why did they sing the Canadian anthem? Usually they sing both when a Canadian team and US team play each other. Since the Winter Classic is exclusively American teams, why sing I Canada? Just curious.

National event. Canada would throw a fit, if we didn’t honor them at “their” sport.

i can’t think of any reason other than acknowledging that this is a league-special event, so since there are Canadian teams, they’d sing both anthems. otherwise, i can’t honestly think of why.

I’m pulling for the Rangers because I work with Callahan’s dad, and he taught me about forechecking and back checking
I love watching hockey played outside.
The mic’s seem to be picking up the sounds of the game nicely. This is the first year I’ve actually been able to watch the game, usually I’m working. Go Rangers!
Screw you, Enterprise commercial. How come the Red Wings fan in that commercial looked like he should be wearing a helmet regardless of his hockey fandom?
