they were yelling out jeers which included “dead wings” all night. i didn’t really understand how exactly that made any sense, since they wings are nicely situation for their 21st consecutive playoff appearance and all. they haven’t been the dead wings since long before the phoenix franchise even existed. and you know i don’t hate on phoenix. it was just so ludicrous. i’ve heard a lot of dumb stuff there but that may take the cake.

I get twinges of glee when I read a comment like that; such a witty, educated statement really. The next thing I picture is the “Fuck Yeah” guy and it makes me oh so happy.

I have a family member (only related by marriage) who thinks it’s funny to ask me about the “dead wings” I just look at him and say “you obviously can’t talk about the Wings because you haven’t watched Hockey in the last 20 years” end of conversation.

Great news, if it goes anywhere. I’ll still miss Checketts though, and I think any Blues fan that underestimates his role in turning us around. When he took over, we were the worst franchise in the NHL, and I’d argue from a hockey decision perspective, we might be the best now.

It is a gold mine over there. Apparently 1/3 of a successful season makes your franchise "the best."

One problem with the yawning coyotes

Every time I look at them I have to yawn. Even thinking about them makes me sleepier than I already am. I’ve been up since 5:00 a.m. EST since I had to take my mother (age 80) for a 7:30 a.m. carotid artery ultrasound and then come to work. Glad the boys aren’t playing tonight. Might not make it much past dinner.

Who the hell wears a T-shirt over their jersey aka sweater?

I’ve noticed this in many areas when they hand out “White Out” shirts. The practice itself is dated as the “White” sweaters are the Away Team now. Still what self respecting fan puts a free T-shirt over their jersey?
