A win tonight reminds these bitches that they may be allowed out of the basement in the Central Division house, but daddy's room is strictly off-limits.

It would be nice if the Blues could show the Wings that they can win a game in Detroit, especially with both teams vying for the Central Division lead. But if the Blues lose, it won’t matter. It’s obvious that when the Blues face the Wings in the playoffs this spring, four of the games will be played in St. Louis and only three will occur in the wasteland of Detroit. Short series are for people with heart problems. I like a good seven-game thriller. And mark my words, that seventh game will be in St. Louis. We have a saying around here. It’s kind of how we approach life. When Karma gives you lemons, we say Fuck Detroit. Call us bitter. Call us unoriginal. Call us juvenile. Just don’t ignore our hockey team because it’s for real and it’s coming to kick your ass.

I have posted here a few times. To get to the point, my 7 year old son just got his report card and did an amazing job. His grades all went up and my gf and I have decided to get him some Wing tickets for his good grades. My son and I have never been to the Joe and was wondering the best way to go about getting the best tickets for the best price. We would be coming from Canton, Oh, so it is about 3.5 hours away. I'll weigh in, since I'm apparently the original shit-disturber (even from before I started posting Blues' fans idiot comments to laugh at)
I came over on that ref conspiracy post with an edge, to be sure, and I know I have a history with the SLGT crew.
But it’s hilarious exactly how riled up some of those SLGT folks get about something that’s just a fan discussion. It didn’t even really boil over until that mouth-breather DESTROYER got himself involved and decided that he was going to be the champion of SLGT by doing nothing more than attacking me, even when I made it clear that I actually had hockey to discuss. Then he called me out for not wanting to discuss hockey.
There’s a horrible inferiority complex going on over there and what I feel is a bit of groupthink by people who don’t actually want to treat fans as individuals. I’m a Red Wings fan, so for the bitter dicks with anger management issues, I’m EVERY Red Wings fan, no matter what I’m saying, I’m the outlet for every single thing that makes Blues fans mad about Wings fans, even if I personally haven’t said the shit that people want to go after me for.
I love discussing hockey and I like doing it with a sarcastic bent for people who can actually handle it. You talk a little shit, you get a little shit talked back to you and it’s all in good fun. When it comes down to ad hominem attacks though, the kid gloves come off.

The issue here is that many of your fellow fans at SLGT do not feel the same way. They can dish it out but they can’t take it, which is why your site gets the reputation it does.
Having said that, we love good shit talk over here. As long as you keep it clean (no obvious offensive words, nothing racial or sexist), you’re good. And we’ll warn you if you’re getting close to the line. If you can take it, you’re welcome to come back any time.

I have been lurking over there for a few years and just started posting...
but I think the majority of us at SLGT are good peeps. We just kind of have an us against the world mentality because we never get respect even when the Blues are good. Therefore, a lot of times it gets taken to the extreme when one of us gets attacked and then the gloves get dropped. I think we are like the guys that get described as guys you hate but would love to have on your team if you had them. I’m sure if you guys were able to spend more than 15 seconds over there, you would see how nice we can be ;)

I think as individuals, I would get along with most of the commenters at SLGT (with a few very notable exceptions), but there’s such a hivemind mentality that goes on, and a lot of that may indeed come from this lack of respect you guys think you are owed.
My deal with most of them is the fascination with all things Red Wings, even when they have nothing do with what the Blues are doing. That comes from the top, and the commenters just take off with it.
However, I respect your opinion since you’re a member of the site and know them better than I do.

In Detroit, the word elbow is used to describe to the joint or bend of the arm between the forearm and the upper arm.
It was Datsyuk’s shoulder (the upper joint of each of a person’s arms) that hit Jackman’s face.
Datsyuk’s elbow comes up after the hit, but does not make contact with Jackman’s face.
For your reference, the wings have a white stripe located on their home jerseys where what most people would call an elbow is.

The Blues have never been good since SLGT has existed, so the bosses are gonna have to learn that they’re going to get more traffic from other teams, specifically the Wings and Hawks. It comes with the territory of having a team that doesn’t suck. Obviously, I’m not one to tell anyone how to run a site, but when WIIMers and SCHers can easily get along laughing at SLGT, there’s a problem.

Comments made during GDTs are usually reactionary, and we are all caught up in the emotions of the moment and let the fingers fly.
I’ll always give someone more leeway for something said during a game than in a pregame or recap.

I look at it like this
We’re all our own houses, and we’re all free to say what we want about whatever we want when we’re among each other.
However, we’re all hanging out in the backyard, and the neighbours are out and can hear everything you say. So if you say something inflammatory or negative, expect that there might be someone who calls you on it.

I must say...
That was one of the better officiated games in a while, even taking into account the Bertuzzi/Backes call. And Helm played like a grown-ass MAN.
