Nicklas Lidstrom May Not Skate Tonight: Will Still be on Television [Updated: Lidstrom Out Tonight]
Reports coming out of the morning skate in Montreal today are that Nicklas Lidstrom left the skate early and may miss tonight's game with what Ken Holland is calling "Flu-like symptoms".
MLive's Ansar Khan (@AnsarKhanMLive) has the money Tweet:
Wings' Commodore, however, will play if Lidstrom can't. Lidstrom likely will play but wasn't feeling well, left arena right after the skate.
If it does turn out that Lidstrom will miss tonight's game, don't fear, because you'll still get to see him tonight if you have NBC Sports. Lidstrom will be the third NHL athlete featured on their '36' series, in which they have cameras follow and document 36 hours of an NHLer's life. The episode will air tonight prior to NBC Sports' coverage of the Red Wings' game in Montreal.
This will be a great opportunity for fans of hockey to get a glimpse into the life of a truly generational talent and consummate professional. I wouldn't miss this.
[UPDATE: Per the Official Red Wings Twitter, Lidstrom will not play tonight. Both Commodore and Kindl are in]
Nick Lidstrom (illness) will not play against Montreal tonight.

Of course
the day I wear my Lidstrom jersey, word comes out that he might not play tonight. Oh the (sad) irony!
Also a fan of the Rays and Lightning.
There is no offseason.

Know the feeling
First time I wore my Datsyuk jersey last year was the day he broke his hand.
But that would require owning an Ericsson sweater...

That would require Ericsson sweaters to exist
You sound like a manure salesman with a mouthful of samples.
I put my #5 on the hanger when I started to believe they were losing because of it.
Now, I just wear it after we win.

To beat a dead joke
I hear he developed a leak in the auxiliary heat exchanger and the coolant is causing some shorts.
So
His lower back is sweaty?

So is Kindl still scratched for whatever reason or is he playing tonight?

Kindl was going to play instead of Commodore
but if TPH can’t go (or is going too much), then Commodore will play.

That still leafs us with only 5 dman
Have they even clarified why Kindl’s been on the bench the past few games yet?

Kronwall + Stuart
White + (Lidstrom or Commodore)
Kindl + Ericsson
I count 6

Well certainly not perfect robits, that's fer sure
Maybe the scientists are performing tests that will allow him to continue playing for at least another year?

They're just replacing the fuel rods in his reactor.
He has another twenty years, easy.
Goalies are enforcers too.

If he's gonna miss any time at all I'm glad it's against a team that can't score worth a shit compared to one that's actually good

NHL36 is the best hockey program I've seen
It’s really what 24/7 should be.
Seeing those games again made them all the more meaningful.
If it’s this effective at telling a story the fans want to see.
My goodness, I was nearly moved to tears at the end.
I really hope this doesn’t go away.
