Winging It In Motown Radio: Episode 11

L36e1e93f0000_1_30279_medium

The Red Wings might be off for the All-Star break, but WIIM Radio is here with another new podcast for our readers.

This week we're once again joined by Tyler and our special guest is Michael Petrella from The Production Line and the father of Red Wings' podcasts, TP:60. Episode 11 features plenty of all-star talk including WIIM's victory over TPL in the 2nd Annual ASG Challenge and Pavel Datsyuk being selected number one overall in the fantasy draft.

We cover the upcoming road trip, Jimmy Howard's dominance, and what the heck is wrong with Henrik Zetterberg this season. Plus, find out which former Nickelodeon star Petrella has worked with and we play a little game of FMK with a Full House twist.

So enjoy the latest episode of WIIM Radio. You can check us out on iTunes and download the podcast to your iPod or iPhone. You can also download the episode here. Stick tap to Brandon Langer for creating our intro. Check out his other music on Facebook and iTunes.

Let's Go Red Wings.

Yep

That’s Kimmy Gibbler. Listen to the episode and find out why it’s relevant.

Thank you!

When I read the comments in previous posts about how people would trade Zetterberg (and some very willingly) I’m pretty sure I yelled “are you fucking crazy!” He brings so much value to his line, and the whole team-scoring or not; for all the reasons you guys discussed and more. Just one of the reasons I love the podcast.

Oh, I make you sad by reading your CSSI, do I? Well fine, see how you like it when I don’t read it anymore.

Hey, I said “Sad and happy”.

I’m still amazed that there are people who read them! I think you guys are awesome.

Totally agree on Price

He was surprisingly hilarious.

Jimmy Howard also leads the league in penalty minutes for a goalie

thoughts on whether or not he can stay on top?

W/R/T Zetterberg

I would like to ask if any of you guys think that the rise in Huds’ and Filp’s numbers are related to Z’s offensive performance.
I’ve felt that he’s been directly involved in making much of that line’s offense happen both because of his passing but also because he has skated really hard with the puck, drawing alot of coverage, leaving the others open.
I didn’t think Zetterberg was bad this season because I’d been evaluating his performance with the whole line’s performance. Am I wrong to do so?

I think that concept is pretty far in-line with how we felt about it.

Z is playing the role he’s expected very well. It’s unfortunate that it’s not showing up in offensive numbers, but you don’t just separate the linemates from him and saying he’s not pulling his weight. The entire line is doing well and that’s thanks in large part to what Z has been doing for them.

Yeah, I hadn't gotten to that part when I posted

Sorry about that.
But i do think that Z is, for his size and age, skating harder and stronger with the puck (I don’t even know if that matters) than he has in the past. Where even Bert and Mule turn around and skate facing glass, Z leans on the coverage so hard he seems to pick up and extra man almost immediately. It blows my mind.
But thanks for the consolation.

Great job guys!

J.J.: I am one of the people who reads every single CSSI post you write.

Thank you for weighing in on Zetterberg. I’d like him to score more, but the hate he’s getting? I don’t think he deserves.

"I don't want to do that to Comet"

wow…that was where I absolutely lost it.

Great way to break up the terrible monotony that is Monday at work.

That part killed me

As do Graham’s FMKs, I always go into a laughing fit. I try to keep the giggling to a minimum but it’s difficult.
