Possibly Travis Moen.

Pardon me
But the exact quote is:
"To me, if we could get another heavy winger, or heavy forward, or D — those would all be good things to help you,"
Um, doesn’t t his just about run the gambit (other than goalie)? I really think Uncle Mike is just trying to say he’ll take whatever help he can get. I seriously doubt he has Travis Moen specifically in mind.

First, I was using the title that they gave it.
Second, There has been talk of Moen to Detroit and that is why I posted it.
Serious question: what would Moen bring to the table? Just looking at this objectively but, other than him being somewhat big-ish, he seems to fit solidly into the 4th line rotation and not much else. I realize he is on pace for a possible career year points-wise, but his level of output doesn’t put him in a position where that would be his expected role on this team unless the assumption is that he would jump up into the top two lines and suddenly double his already abnormal output. And I just don’t see that being a need for the Wings at the moment. Not doubting what you heard, I just don’t see why it would be a good idea. Anyone got any ideas here?
Point Taken
I understand the article itself used the “Heavy Forward” title. But this is a clear editorialization of the intent behind Babcock’s comments, and doesn’t deserve to be proliferated.

No. Just because he skates around near the blue line does not mean he is a defenseman.

Mike Green plays somewhat decent defense. Byfuglien is a forward who happens to play on the blue line

To be honest, if Mike Green played decent defense he wouldn't have been left off the gold medal Canadian roster a couple years ago
You sound like a manure salesman with a mouthful of samples.
That team was one of the best groups ever assembled. Who gets taken off it so that Green can play? Mind you, those Olympics happened during his monster 2009-2010 season and the team was selected before he really showed that scoring prowess. He did get nominated for the Norris in 09 (and 10) but his breakout year was definitely the 57 point 2010

Chris Pronger
Because fuck Chris Pronger.

I hate Chris Pronger as much as the next guy, but there is no denying his talent and his hall of fame career. He earned his spot on that team.

Bobby Ryan?
Ryan tweeted about how great Datsyuk is… Got me thinking his way. He is definitely a heavy forward who could help for years. Also, everyone is available with the Ducks except Selanne and Koivu.
Why not Koivu? NTC or did he say he’ll retire a Duck like Selanne said?

I thought Anaheim said they would trade anyone except Selanne or Koivu
So I’m guessing he has an NTC

Which prevents him from being traded to Minnesota and forced to play on the same team as his younger brother

I still don’t understand why he went with Anaheim over Minnesota a few years ago.

I just remember him saying he didn't wanna play on a team with his brother for whatever reason
