Wings seek remedy for road woes | Red Wings Front
It's back to work for the Red Wings. The first item on the docket is fixing the road troubles.

Red Wings coach Mike Babcock speaks volumes quietly | The Detroit News | detroitnews.com
It bothers me a little bit that Babcock has never won the Jack Adams. Sometimes it's a whole hell of a lot harder to coach a talented team with big expectations than to turn a team around from one of the worst to a middle of the pack playoff team. Although, I'm sure Babcock could care less and would rather have a Cup than an Adams.

Slumping Red Wings' Henrik Zetterberg plans to 'just work hard' | Detroit Free Press | freep.com
We touched on this topic on the podcast. Hank's numbers sure are down, but he's doing other things very well and his line mates are producing and career rates.

Every deal but number two includes a player I wish the Wings would go after.

Assessing Erik Karlsson’s Norris Trophy hopes | ProHockeyTalk
If he keeps putting up the points like he is, I imagine he will be considered for the Norris. At the end of the day though, it's still a three man race between Nicklas Lidstrom, Zdeno Chara, and Shea Weber (And it's probably Weber's to lose).

Despite the suitors, perhaps the Nashville Predators will hang onto Ryan Suter | Puck Daddy - Yahoo! Sports
Kenny Holland is just waiting to pounce and sign this kid. Do it, Kenny. Make him a Wing.

Tim Gleason Signs Four-Year, $16 Million Extension With Carolina Hurricanes - Canes Country
The most talked about name on the blue line that was expected to be traded is now (most likely) off the market.

Don't forget to check out the lastest episode of WIIM Radio featuring Tyler from the The Triple Deke and The Production Line's Michael Petrella. We recap All-Star weekend and the WIIM/TPL Challenge, look at the week ahead for the Red Wings, and dicuss Zetterberg's struggles this season. We also play a fun game of FMK Full House style. You can check us out on iTunes and download the podcast to your iPod or iPhone. You can also download the episode here.

Let's Go Red Wings.

I hope this is the only time I ever have to see Jimmy in Blue.

It’s my hope that we only see him in Red and White for the rest of his career. Just how freaking awesome is it that we have a goalie that genuinely scares other teams with how hard he is to play against? IT ROCKS! Now, back to the grind boys!

i read that trades article and had my “are you kidding me?!” face for every single trade. the only one that even has a chance of happening is the Toronto/ Columbus trade just because Columbus might actually be incompetent enough to pull it off. i’m already laughing at the asset mismanagement.

You wanna tell me that to mah face?!

Hank shouldn't be having to answer for "slumping"

they covered this on the radio show yesterday.
if happy and flip weren’t producing, i’d say hank would be “slumping” but he appears to be doing his job, albeit invisibly.

Exactly.

One of the big things about Z is that he does his job very quietly and, as you mentioned sometimes invisibly. He reminds me of Lidstrom in that manner. He’s not flashy and doesn’t command the wow factor that some players do; but he’s still amazing and talented and works hard all the time. To really appreciate Lidstrom, you have to watch carefully and understand how he does what he does, he does his work quietly, but that doesn’t make it any less important or amazing. Zetterberg is the same way and I’m surprised at how much criticism he’s received this season and how quickly many people seem to have turned on him.

I concur in all respects with both Lords of Olympia’s original post and SlapshotGoal’s reply. Well done.
